Home

Welcome to the Foundation for Reconciliation and Dialogue.  Founded in 2007 out of a growing concern for understanding difference and otherness in an increasingly global and multicultural world, esteemed theologian and activist, J. Deotis Roberts and Johnny B. Hill (professor of theology at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary), established the organization.  Dr. Hill serves as the Foundation's first president, while Dr. Roberts will lead the organization as Vice President, providing guidance in areas of research, administration, fundraising, and organizational development.

We invite you to explore this site and our hope is that its information and resources help to advance understandings of peace, justice, reconciliation, and the urgent need for dialogue in the world.

What We Do

The Foundation essentially has three primary goals, which guide its work and activities:

  • Conduct critical research and produce scholarly resources that advance the work of justice, peace, reconciliation and dialogue locally, nationally, and internationally
  • Provide a forum for public debate on issues of conflict--including poverty, racism, sexism, economic exploitation, globalization, etc
  • Engage in advocacy by issuing published reports, policy statements, and regular press releases
